The Pave the Way Campaign: $60,000 Goal for Dignity & Safety

Dear Friend of Harbor Country Mission,
Picture a grandmother gripping her walker, carefully picking her way across loose gravel on a cold
Michigan morning — just to get inside and pick up food for her family. Or a young mom maneuvering a
stroller through ruts and rocks, her toddler bouncing with every bump. This is the reality that hundreds of
your neighbors face every single week when they visit Harbor Country Mission.
Today, we are asking for your help to change that — once and for all.

Harbor Country Mission has launched the Pave the Way Campaign to raise $60,000 to pave our parking
lot at 9600 Red Arrow Hwy in Bridgman. The project will replace uneven, hazardous gravel with
approximately 12,000 square feet of smooth, safe asphalt — complete with ADA-compliant accessible
parking striping and improved drainage.
This isn’t a cosmetic upgrade. It is a direct investment in the safety and dignity of every person who
walks through our doors. For families already facing hardship, a treacherous parking lot shouldn’t be one
more obstacle.

“Paving this parking lot is about more than asphalt. It’s about dignity, safety, and making sure that the first step onto our property isn’t an obstacle course for the people we’re here to serve.”
